Here are some of the stories coming up in the next and that should make the headlines:
The US Health Care Bill will be voted on in the US House of Representatives on Sunday March 21, following over a year of debate on the issue. The outcome of the vote is considered to be a reflection of whether or not US President Barack Obama has been successful in his campaigning.
Italy will start its regional elections on Sunday March 28. The voting will be held over two days and will show what influence the series of scandals involving Silvio Berlusconi will have had on his support.
In Brussels, on Thursday March 25, leaders from different European nations will meet for a two day EU summit, it’s very likely that the economy will be on the agenda and especially Greece’s debt crisis.
Britain’s finance minister Alastair Darling will present Britain’s budget on Wednesday March 24, which becomes extra important as Britain will have its election this year.
Also coming up in the next week:
US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton,will be meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on Wednesday March 24 for a strategic dialogue.
Four employes from multinational mining company Rio Tinto are to stand trial in China on Monday March 22 for charges of espionage. A trial that will cast a spotlight on China’s courts.
